Can it just work with just like plugging it into a cord or like batteries?

well i was thinking about getting one but im not sure cause i just want to use it in my room like a decore no conecting it to computers and sutff like that well anyways does it have a bilt in speaker so i could listen to it in my room when i put on a record???
