Yes! I happen to have rather large arms, and I am able to wear on the shoulders with the short strap. hope this helps!

It's a fairly decent sized bag-- I'd say the length of the bag is about as long as a normal sized bag of bread and as tall as DVD case.

I would say no; i personally dont think its big enough for school books and binders and i dont think it would hold up too long
