answer 2
I couldn't find a "garment" tag on my shower curtain, but it is made of a sheer, lightweight fabric with a linen-like texture. It is not waterproof; you will need a shower curtain liner.

It's kind of a thin cotton fabric, so you have to pair it with a plastic shower curtain behind it.

No, the shower curtain is definitely not waterproof. It is simply made out of thin cotton. You'd need to hang a plastic shower curtain liner behind it to keep out water.

answer 6
The curtain is a light cotton, almost linen-like. It's not waterproof but with a shower liner you should be fine. I haven't had any trouble. If you're worried about mold, you can likely wash it (though I haven't tried this yet) or dry clean at the very least.

Hooks are not included. When you go to buy hooks they come standard w/the same number in every package. All shower curtains you ever will buy will take the same number of hooks b/c all shower curtains have the same number of holes. Get it?

Question

Could you use this as regular window curtain?

the original window curtain like this one is way too narrow and expensive for what it really is and i was wondering if i bought this for my window if it would look fine? i'm assuming the back has a plastic protective layer for water but i wouldn't mind. anyways someone let me know because this size is perfect for the average size window. not the tiny size they originally made so you have to buy 2 or 3. THANKS!

It would be so cute as a window panel. You would just have to come up with a way to hang them. There is no plastic backing, so your good on that.

answer 3
It would have to be hung using shower curtain hooks which wouldn't be too bad as long as they were cute & matched the room decorations. I'm all about improvising & trying new thigns so why not. If you do try as a curtain just make sure to measure appropriately - mine fell at an odd length & looked funny (I tried to use it on a window as an afterthough).

answer 4
Well there isn't a plastice coating on the other side. Its meant to be used with a liner so you are in luck there. I think it would look fine in a window as a panel. So you would want two for one window, unless its a large window. Then you'd want more. I would try it out. Great idea.

You could but the shower curtain is huge and would need to be cut to fit into a window. No protective layer on back for water.

I like to contrast the feminine ruffles & sweet colors with neutral/harder textures. For instance I have the light blue curtain & I have paired with it twigs/browns/and even some patterns. I like the mix of neutral colored patterns up next to the ruffles. Subtle hints of color carry the blue throughout the bathroom but in all the curtain is the girliest piece. You could also go a bit more mainstream with clean classic white solid colored accessories.

My bathroom is all light brown and white, so I wanted the curtain to add some pop. I also wanted the curtain to be the focal piece - it's loud so this works really well. It's a difficult color aqua/green to match so I coordinated with other creme-colored and bamboo items.

Question

could I dye this?

Do you think I could dye this with Rit in the washing machine. I know I'd have to steam it out after it dried, but do you think I'd ruin it?

no, i think the dying would ruin it. the fabric is very thin and i dont think it would hold up to the amount of washing necessary to rinse out the dyes.

If its 100% cotton you should be fine. Just make sure you do it in a bath large enough to let this large curtain spread out or your dye will be uneven. I wouldn't dye this in the washing machine.

answer 4
I think you could dye it easily, but it's made out of mostly cotton, I believe, and will take to dye very quickly! (I actually did try to dye a small piece of it before just leaving it as it is...it took to the color fast, but it looks very pretty nonetheless..I was going to dye it teal, and the sample piece did look very pretty!

There is no "garment" tag inside the curtain I received, but the fabric is very delicate; I'd recommend dry cleaning your shower curtain should it need washing.

I think it's supposed to be, I wouldn't dare to wash mine, because there are so many ripped seams that would just fray more with washing. I honestly think it's just not made very well. More what you would expect from a $20 product than a $70 one.

Hand Wash Cold and Line Dry. Most washers today have a Hand Wash Cycle and and Extra Delicate Cycle. My guess is that that is fine and I plan to wash mine that way.

I just bought the gray one and it's not at all khaki. I think it's more silver than actual gray because it's a lot lighter than in the pictures. But it matches my department store gray bathrugs fine.
