No, the legs are inside the sofa. How, you ask? It's really a cool design process: the bottom of the sofa has a secret zippered compartment that contains the two arms, the two "tube pillows" and the four legs. Thus, the box is as flat as the thickness of the seat cushion, since it ships in the "bed position". Then you just unzip the secret compartment, take out the parts, screw them on and voila, you're done. Note: One of our legs had a slight issue with the screw-in part, and while it was still usable, UO sent me a replacement leg free of charge to have as a backup. Great cust. service.

The legs are not attached. It comes in a package that's probably less than 12" wide...you would definitely be able to get this up a narrow staircase.

I am not exaggerating whatsoever when I say it is an awful looking back. The bottom of the sofa and its arms stick out when the sofa is upright (for sitting) and it creates a very awkward looking shelf at the bottom of the sofa. I attempted to correct this by placing a console table behind it with a lower shelf and it seems to do the trick.

Great! There is a small ledge in the back, to accomodate the fold-down feature, which is about 8" wide. Our cat loves to perch on this ledge since the sofa is against the wall in our place. But I would have no problems bringing it out away from the wall in a loft-style apartment as well. When you see it from the back, you can tell it folds down, but if that doesn't bother you than it looks fine.

It's definitely more of a charcoal. What you see in the picture is what you get. Out of an abundance of caution you might compare the photos on other computer screens.

It seems more charcoal to me, but I admit I was surprised at how many white threads were in the design too.

It is more of a cool toned charcoal gray. It looks exactly like the picture.

It seems like a super twin to me, if there is such a thing. Definitely not full or queen, but my wife and i (she's 5'6", i'm 5'9", medium build) have no problem laying side-by-side and looking up through our skylight in the living room. Hope this helps! ;)

You have to have it delivered to your apartment, you can't have it shipped to the store. When I have mine delivered, it took about 5 weeks, and I got a call when it was a couple of days out so that I would have notice for when it was going to arrive. They gave me a ball park range of about 5 hours on a specific day and ended up getting their pretty early, about 8 AM. They were nice enough to carry it up the stairs for me, but I'm not sure if that is protocol, or just nice deliverymen.
