I wear a medium and the sleeves go just past the knuckle of my thumb. I just scrunch them up a bit and I don't have much of a problem.

Mine didn't shrink as much as I was hoping it to, but it did shrink a little bit. I'm a slim guy and a medium still worked for me after a wash.

I think you should go for a medium.
I'm 5"6 and a small is a bit big on me. My chest is a bit large too.
So a large or a medium should do. The sleeves are long for any size.
