They look dark but when held up to a light they definitely have a green too them

They are... neither. I mean, they're not totally black to the point people can see their own reflection in them when looking at you. They're also not shaded as dark as black lens ray band would be. But they've got a bit of olive in them. So maybe, the color is a dark-grey-olive? They're the color of a classic aviator lens!
