It will run if you do, and make the tan part look dingey. I did it and wouldn't recommend if you can avoid doing so.

Hi, I think it could be but it may ruin the quality of the rug as i don't think it could sustain too many machine washes. Once or twice a year might be alright on a gentle/delicate cycle wash.
