It'll work with paper..but the purpose is to make picks for a guitar, and you can't really use paper picks to play guitar..

answer 3
It works on paper, but then that wouldn't work very well if you're using it as a pick. Unless you're after a VERY quiet sound?

We used it with paper and it worked fine. Its made to handle credit cards to its pretty sturdy - but not to the point where it ruins the edges on paper or rips it in any way. Nice clean cuts.

Used it to make confetti for reception tables in a rock and roll wedding.

No the pick wouldn't be strong enough if you just used paper.

Question

Does it make quality picks?

I don't play guitar, I'm looking at this as a present for someone else, so my vocab may not be precise enough...how to say this...does the punch give the pick the beveled/tapered edge that make picks have (you know, kind of rounded, like most picks are) - not just a flat edge...

make sense? Thanks :)

That really depends on the thickness of the material being used. If the material is thin, then it won't be beveled but if you use something thicker it will be. I use this tool with credit cards and it does have a beveled/rounded edge.

I understand. But you're right, it does do a blunt cut; the edges are not rounded. But I must say, the cut is very clean and depending on what materials you're punching picks out of, they're useful! Especially for someone who constantly loses picks all the time!
