They're kinda mid rise. Like 1 or 2 inches below my belly button.

They are not low at all. They're high-waisted.

These shorts aren't low rise. They're mid-rise, or slightly high waisted for me, but that's because I'm 5'1 with a short torso.

They come to around your belly button, but are fairly adjustable due to the soft, slightly stretchy material.

Normally an Australian or UK would translate to a US 4, but I'd say size down on these because it seems they run a bit big. They may sit lower on the hip if you get the bigger size.

I think you would be more comfortable in a 2. I am a little taller than you and weigh slightly more, i have them in a size 4.

No shrinking, but the material doesn't do well in the wash.
